Vantec GSN-7025 Socket 478 Heatsink Review Built upon the older model GSN-7015, the new Vantec GSN-7025 packs in a larger surface area and bigger fan with the goal of delivering better cooling performance for the socket 478 Pentium 4 processor. Like its brother, the GSN-7025 has maintained the distinction of having one of the thickest base plates of all the heatsinks we have reviewed (9mm). A 70mm YS-Tech fan with 7 blades (and a fan guard) is what keeps the GSN-7025 cool, and by the look of the preliminary results Vantec have improved on the previous heatsink significantly.
The GSN-7025 uses a very simple spring tensioned set of articulated clips that lock into the motherboard's HSRM (HeatSink Retention Mechanism) at all four points.
