Initially we had hoped to see a heatsink beat out the rest of the reference coolers for the top position. Given that it comes in as a mid-level cooler in our tests we were a bit disappointed.

Much of this no doubt has to do with the orientation and types of fans that are utilized. The Radiators construction and thin fins offer very good heat transmission to the surrounding environment, but I fear that the closely placed fans may be omitting a large portion of the center behind their motors.

Given the complexity of the assembly, it is difficult to say, pull out the fans and drop in a 60mm Delta. The internal fans not only cool down the Akachi-pipe, but they also act as spacers to keep it centered within the housing.

The Radiator has several issues to overcome, the stiff leaf spring being our biggest concern. Now that the English translations have been supplied by the manufacture, the chances of a damaged processor during installation have been lessened. Are the out side clips strong enough to hold the heatsink in place without breaking? Only time will tell, and so far we have not heard of one breaking so the point is moot until something happens. Given all this, the main factor the CPU Radiator has to over come is a high price. Inflated perhaps by the import situation or by manufacturing expenses, it doesn't quite deliver the necessary level of performance most of us seek.

All in all this is a very well built cooler that uses some rather new technology to deliver pretty good cooling performance. It is not best of class, but neither is it OEM. Rather the best way to describe the CPU Radiator is as first generation technology, technology with a lot of potential, and worth keeping a close eye on.
