Curiously, the component of this heatsink that does the work is silent, but the fans needed to remove the heat are noisy. Given the way this cooler operates I'd be very tempted to submerge it in solution and ditch the fans altogether... perhaps some one will try a liquid cooled variant of this heatsink soon. For the moment, the twin fans add a lot of noise to the system environment, but not enough to really deafen. Thankfully. Listen to the Radiator heatsink by clicking on the headphones.

The SCR325-2F is very good cooler that offers comparable performance to several others in the market but it is by no means top of the line. Given that this technology is still quite new, I'm considering the Radiator a first generation cooler, and one which has lots of room for optimization to provide better competition. Compared to the other coolers in this range it has some of the smallest, and lowest RPM fans.

On another level, the copper plate on the base of the heatsink seems to be sized for the good old socket 370 PGA Celerons, and that leaves me with a suspicion that this design is a little older than most of us might realize. That's just a hunch, but I'm guessing this technology has plenty more room to maneuver.
