Acoustically the TI-V77L comes in very well, thanks
partially to its use of a slim 70mm fan, and secondly to the lower RPM's it
operates at. Generally speaking, the YS Tech fan is not quiet, but mid level.
Chances are that in most computer cases the noise characteristics off this
cooler would blend in well with the power supply and drives, rather than piercing the silence like a
banshee 700RPM Delta.
In any case, click on the headphones to listen to this heatsink for yourself.
Synthetic Temperature Test Results: *Ranked according to 100W small interface die test results.
Like its predecessor before it, the Thermal Integration TI-V77L is a performance heatsinks. Of the current set of reference heatsinks, it comes in on top with the small interface die. The only downside we can see to a heatsink like this (as if good performance would qualify as a bad aspect) is its' larger than standard size. This isn't a problem in so far as weight is concerned - the TI-V77L is not a heavy heatsink by any means, but rather the 70mm foot print. On mother boards where manufacturers have located obstacles like capacitors and power headers close to the socket you might not be able to use such a wide heatsink.
