Coolermaster DP5-6H11 Heatsink Review There are countless heatsinks to choose from when faced with a bare OEM Duron or T-Bird these days. If you buy online it's a bit harder to choose from the selection unless you are very familiar with all the offerings. It's not quite as difficult if you stop by your local computer store to pick up a chip however. Store clerks can offer their insight, or complete guesses to you in that friendly and personal manner - or you can simply look at all the shiny heatsinks and pick out one on the basis of looks (and price) alone. It's guaranteed that if you go that route you will come across Coolermaster heatsinks. Coolermaster make good heatsinks for the OEM market. Speaking from personal experience, their fans last, and their coolers generally perform well - not top of the line, but then, they're not that expensive either. This entry, the DP5-6H11 is an aluminum extrusion design for AMD socket A processors out today.
It might not be noticeable right off the bat, but this heatsink uses a rather nifty little fan to keep itself cool. Most 60mm fans found on heatsinks today are 15mm thick, this one is even thinner. The Delta fan is in fact only 10mm thick, and the motor is 28mm in diameter instead of the more common 33mm diameter. This gives this fan a low profile appearance and added fin area to create downward air motion.
