Of the heatsinks used in this comparison the Coolermaster comes in 8th, just after the SuperOrb. This is not to say it is a bad cooler by any means, but it does illustrate where it stands with high-performace heatsinks. Interestingly enough the DP5-6H11 manages to out perform the Vantec GSW-6015, which comes equipped with a high-RPM fan as standard. Also note that this Coolermaster performed a few degrees cooler then the dual heatpipe equipped CH5-5K12, which we have to admit, just looks amazing, no matter how it performs.
Looking a just the rise above ambient values we're pleasantly surprised to see the DP5-6H11 just inch it's way in front of the Thermaltake SuperOrb. In reality, the differences are so close that they would really have no effect however. A 34.4 rise above the ambient temperature is a good result for this heatsink, and the class it is competing with. The Thermoengine, Blizzard, and Globalwin WBK-38 are really high performance heatsinks, so while it seems as though the Coolermaster DP5-6H11 has performed just horribly, its performance is really fairly good as it stands below the 40 degrees rise above ambient mark. Conclusions: All in all the Coolermaster DP5-6H11 is a good performing OEM class heatsink. It is not really comparable to the higher-performing heatsinks like the Thermoengine, and solid copper Blizzard, but neither is it geared towards the same types of systems or users. This heatsink is good for your mid-level, never ever overclocked computer. From our experience with Coolermaster in the past, they are very stable performers for the average computer. Would I put this cooler on a Ghz chip - no, but I would install it on any non-overclocked chip under 800Mhz without concern. So while this is a good performer at a fairly reasonable cost, it shouldn't be confused with a high performance heatsink. Instead it offers good performance, an inexpensive price point, and most important to some, very quiet operation.
