Pentium D / Extreme Edition & Quad Core class heatsinks tested
at 150W
Intel Core 2 Duo / Pentium 4 /
Celeron class heatsinks tested at 85W
Results based on readings from a 30x30mm copper
interface die with 150W and 85W heat loads applied on the LGA775
version of the Mk.II Test Platform. Temperature results listed for
each heatsink were calculated by determining the rise over ambient
temperatures at time of test. Information on Frostytech's test

The heat
output from Intel processors varies, so Frostytech tests with two thermal values
that represent the upper limits of existing CPU families.
With a
150W heat load applied by the Intel LGA775 version of FrostyTech's synthetic
thermal test platform first, the Thermaltake ISGC-300 heatsink maintains an
average temperature result of 21.7°C over ambient at full fan speed. After
reducing fan speed from 1300 to 800RPM (33.6 dB), temperatures on the 150W test
increase moderately to 27.9°C.
The Thermaltake ISGC-300 heatsink was then tested with an
85W heat load. Under these test conditions the heatsink had no problem
maintaining a test temperature of 12.9°C at stock fan speed and 18.1°C at
800RPM. Clearly this heatsink is well suited to processors with a TDP of 85W or
less.
Results
like these paint a clear picture of what to expect from Thermaltake's
ISGC-300 tower heatsink. At 160mm tall, the heatsink offers good-to-average
performance characteristics on Intel and AMD synthetic test
platforms.
