the heat output from intel processors varies, so frostytech tests with two thermal values that represent the upper limits of existing cpu families. with a 150w heat load applied by the intel lga775 version of frostytech's synthetic thermal test platform first, the DeepCool Ice Blade Pro heatsink maintains an excellent temperature result of 19.8°C over ambient (46.1dBA noise) at full fan speed.
The 120mm PWM fan speed was then reduced to 1000RPM, decreasing noise levels to 33.0dBA. In this
scenario the Ice Blade Pro heatsink was able to hold things steady at 23.8°C over ambient.
DeepCool's Ice Blade Pro heatsink was then tested on the Frostytech Mrk.II synthetic thermal test platform with an 85W heat load. At stock fan speed the DeepCool Ice Blade Pro kept temperatures at 13.1°C over ambient, and at reduced fan speed 15.0°C over ambient.
There you have it, a good performance heatsink from relatively unknown Bejing based thermal solutions maker.
Frostytech hears from a lot of readers who get fixated on one particular heatsink brand (usually Thermalright) and
as a result many people miss out on potentially good
CPU cooling options. While DeepCool is just beginning to build a name
for itself publicly, the Ice Blade Pro is certainly a shot across the bow
that's not to be ignored.
