The Sunon MagLev fan is 25x92x92mm is size and held in place below the aluminum fins of the Triton 77 heatsink, so that it exhausts upward. The PWM fan spins at 2300RPM. With it removed we can see the large array of stacked aluminum fins and five copper heatpipes. The nickel plated aluminum fins are 0.40mm thick and spaced 2.0mm apart.
The aluminum fin array of the Asus Triton 77 heatsink is 31mm thick on average, and the bulk of the cooler is elevated 55mm above the base for clearance purposes. The 6mm diameter copper heat pipes are positioned side to side at the base where the Triton 77 makes contact with the processor. The two cuts in the aluminum base cap are for the AMD K8 mounting clip to lock into.
The copper base is 30x32mm in size with a light sanded finish. Note the screws holes at each corner for attaching the Intel mounting brackets. The heatpipes are very closely packed at the base to ensure efficient conduction of heat to the cooling fins above. The base itself has little capability of shedding heat.
