Mk.II Synthetic Thermal Heatsink Test Results
Results based on readings from a 38x38mm
copper interface die with 125W heat load on the Mk.II Test Platform.
Thermal Test values for each heatsink were calculated by determining
the rise over ambient temperature at time of test. Information on
Frostytech's test methodology is available
here. |

125w thermal test (°c) |
noise level (dba) |
*heatsinks are
ranked according to the 125w thermal test results column (rise over
ambient temp.). low temperatures with low noise levels are considered
best. for reference heatsinks with variable-speed fans, only the high
speed (12v) fan test result is included in the comparison sheet; more
detailed results reside in each specific heatsink
review. |
With a 125W heat load applied by the FrostyTech synthetic
thermal test platform, the CompTake Antazone AS-C1000
heatsink yields a rise above ambient temperature of 30.2°C, with moderately loud 57.6 dBA noise
generated.
It's easiest to say the
Antazone AS-C1000 heatsink is a contradiction, as there is both as much
interesting cooling fin geometry going on here as there are perplexing choices....
The sealed off central cooling area directly behind the
fan motor, the non-finned area tangential to the heatpipes along
the curvature around the donut-shapped structure, and the lack of full
length coverage by the heatpipes to name just three.
The thermal performance of the Antazone AS-C1000 heatsink is about identical to the stock AM2 AVC Z7U7414001 heatsink at its lowest fan
speed; which produces only 48.1 dBA to the Antazone's 57.6 dBA. A fixed fan
speed effectively puts the Antazone ASC1000 heatsink out of the relm for low
noise computers.
As K8 heatsinks go, the Antazone ASC1000
heatsink produces good thermal results, with moderately loud
noise output for this day and age.
