As a
low noise heatsink, the initial results are seen in a different light than
with other typical heatsinks. In other words, the higher temperatures
are expected as a necessity of the lower fan noise. The Arctic
cooling Copper Silent 2 seems to be handling the job a little better than
the Verax P14Cu - but only just by a few degrees.

As a low noise heatsink we are primarily comparing the Arctic Cooling Copper Silent 2 against the
Verax and Zalman heatsinks.
In this
regard the Arctic cooling isn't quite able to match the most recent
Verax heatsink to incorporate a CGDS copper base plate - the Verax P14Cu.
Still, the Arctic Cooling heatsink does offer pretty decent low noise cooling for
a primarily aluminum heatsink.
Noise levels are very good, but just
a little louder than the Verax heatsinks. Given the economics of the two types
of heatsinks, the Arctic Cooling is considerably more affordable. Compared to the
all copper Zalman CNPS 6000-Cu, the Arctic cooling heatsink isn't quite able to
keep up with the temperatures witnessed by that 47dB heatsink, though it is quieter
by a significant amount.
Ultimately, while the thermal test numbers may seem a
stark contrast from most of the heatsinks on this reference list, as a low-noise
heatsink the Arctic Cooling Copper Silent 2 is able to offer moderately decent
temperatures at very low noise levels. Economically, it offers itself at a more
competitive price point than the extremely quiet Verax heatsinks, but again falls
short of the versatility of the Zalman CNPS-6000Cu.
