The Fan:
A very thin 10mm thick 60mm fan is used on the AK350 and not much more is really needed to penetrate the 10mm tall copper pins it butts up against. Typical desktop fans would leave about 4mm of space below the fan for better airflow, but with the height constraints here that is simply not feasible. The fan is connects to the motherboard via a 3-pin power connector with RPM monitoring.

Heatsink Top:
The clipping mechanism is a bit stiff, but works well. Each pin is 10mm tall, 2mm in diameter, and spaced 2mm apart from each other. There are 225 of the copper pins in total. The fan simply screws into the spaces between the outer sets of copper pins.

Side A:
Given the restrictions on height (generally 28mm or thereabouts) the AK350 measures a scant 25mm in height. The base is 5mm thick and undercut 1mm for socket cam arm clearance.
Side B:
The clip is a little stiff, but can be engaged without the use of any screwdrivers or other tools.
Heatsink Base:
The base of the Ak350 is machined very flat, and to a very nice luster. The surface only needs a small amount of thermal compound when being mounted to the processor core. The four screwholes around the outside edge ensure the fan stays put.
