I wouldn't expect any surprises with this heatsink, but in any case lets see what the
final results indeed are.

In the end, the Fortis Tech A93 takes more of an
OEM cooler position in this list of reference heatsinks meaning that while it
should be just fine for your average computer system with good ventilation,
it is not an overclockers choice. The A93 manages to
stay under the 55 degree mark on our 100W test, so that is at least something to take note of, and while it probably wouldn't
be much of an upgrade, moderately paced systems already running with this cooler should
be fine.
The fan speed alarm is a nice addition, but for Athlon
based computers it would be much safer to rely on other mechanisms to prevent a core meltdown. The fan speed alarm only does its
job if you are around to hear it, and then shut down the computer. That isn't the best solution by any
means, but for older systems it may very well indeed be the
right compromise.
