The sound signature of the Vantec Aeroflow is pretty nice compared to some of the whiners we have tested lately. The TMD fans have a much lower pitch sound that makes them good for lower noise applications. Sound Level Measurements:

Listening to the actual noise a heatsink makes allows you to hear what pure numbers alone cannot get across. To further emphasize FrostyTech's reliance on cold hard facts when evaluating a heatsink, we also take Decibel readings with a sound level meter. These results may be higher than the manufacturer's listed specs, but then again these are real world measurements.

53.4dB is not going to allow the Vantec Aeroflow heatsink to break any sound level records, but it is still pretty good. The pitch of the fan is an important factor, and in this case the TMD fans are as we mentioned, very good in that regard.
