Abstract: This is not a silent heatsink, but it is fairly low on the noise levels which is always a welcome aspect.

Acoustic Samples: Listen to this Heatsink!

The Evercool ND18715CA is a really quiet heatsink from most standpoints - it does make some noise, but the bulk of it is air related. The pitch is also low on the scale so it doesn't stand out any more than say a power supply would. Listen to this heatsink in operation for yourself by clicking on the headphones and playing the MP3 recording.

Sound Level Measurements:

Listening to the actual noise a heatsink makes allows you to hear what pure numbers alone cannot get across. To further emphasize FrostyTech's reliance on cold hard facts when evaluating a heatsink, we also take Decibel readings with a sound level meter. These results may be higher than the manufacturer's listed specs, but then again these are real world measurements.
