With all the components back in the box, the Black Box powersupply has a more business-like appearance. The fan is hidden behind the black grill which also allows the air to pass by easily enough (dust build up may be a problem if high airflow fans are used in conjunction with the grill).

So there you have it - the Zalman Black Box PSU Mod. This is a really simple modification to make to any powersupply which needs a bit more venting, and perhaps an image upgrade. When you think about all the effort that some people put into their case mods, it seems like it is high time we started seeing more modified powersupplies.

It is important to remember however that you must unplug the powersupply before attempting to work on it, and that opening up the box will void the manufacturers warranty, and possibly lead to danger of electric shock.

That said, a powersupply like this just looks too damn good to not install in a black Antec SX1030B case! The low noise properties of the Zalman 300W ST300BLP are still very much in demand, and now that some extra venting has been installed, the powersupply will be able to help cool the interior of the case a little bit more.
