Abstract: The copper insert does not come all the way up to the surface of the heatsink however so it is hard to say just how large it really is.

Sibak AC06725TH Copper Core Heatsink Review

It's amazing sometimes how heatsinks almost don't get reviewed. Take for example the Sibak AC06725TH. Sibak parted from the trusty and reliable DHL, or EMS, and sent the heatsink you see below by parcel. This is a risky proposition between Canada and the US, but even more so when the package is coming from Tiawan!

Several custom's forms, a hefty duty fee, and one beat up box later the Sibak was ready and raring to get reviewed.

At first glance the -725th is a simple adaption of a rather popular heatsink design. On closer inspection we found a nice solid copper plug in the base, and a very loud, and very powerfull fan bolted to the top of the heatsink. The fan, with its grill really isn't one piece, and so it takes some of its cues from Thermaltake and what they have been using for some time now.

The fan and the aluminum frame which protect it are each screwed to the heatsink with separate mounting points. In the photo below you can see the bare fan motor and blades. Below this lies the heatsink clip which sits in a small recess. The copper insert does not come all the way up to the surface of the heatsink however so it is hard to say just how large it really is.

The way Sibak have assembled this fan is rather unique, but I have to wonder if placing the fan and the protective shroud like this isn't the main reason that this heatsink creates so much noise? After all, the fan is fairly high RPM, so it only seems to make sense that if it is not properly centered in the shroud that even airflow might be the source of noise issues.

The base at least is completely free from questionable problems. The copper insert - whatever its real size may be - is set flush to the surface and perfectly flat and smooth. That is exactly the way we like to see things!
