Compared to a 25mm fan this 15mm fan employed on the TI-V86L series heatsink we are looking at is much less noisy. It does produce some noise, which may be audible if your PSU operates very quietly.

Initial test results show us two important things about the TI-V86L Series heatsink with its 15mm thick fan. One, it is not even remotely suitable for heatspreader covered processors at 100W heat loads, and two, it works very well on small die processors. This can be seen by the above results under the 100W test section. The TI-V86L Series is out of spec on the large interface die, and does very well on the smaller interface die.

To see the final results, lets look at the results for the rise above ambient temperature.
