5E055B1H3R Heatsink From All Angles
The Fan:
While this 15mm thick fan is relatively small compared to most of today's high speed cooling solutions it is remarkably quiet - a rare thing indeed. There is no information on the fan but we can see that is draws 12V from the motherboard fan header and has a lead for RPM monitoring by the system.

Heatsink Top:
There is a really clever little notch right under the fulcrum of the clip that keeps the heatsink from shifting, or sliding on the core once it has been installed. Two small tabs on the spring clip hook into this notch and lock everything down tight. The fan screws into the copper fan shroud with machine screws and is held off about 2mm above the fin tips.

Side A:
The entire heatsink is 40mm in height making it one of the shorter coolers to be released of late. The 28 copper fins are set 2mm apart and measure 0.3mm thick. Each fin set is soldered or brazed to the copper base plate and is 17mm in height. The clip requires a screwdriver to engage and is easy to work with.
Side B:
With holes cut into the side of the copper fan shoud air is able to escape from the sides and leave the heatsink more quickly. The base plate is just under 4mm thick and is undercut to allow the heatsink to pass over the socket cam arm without interference.
Heatsink Base:
The copper base has a hairline finish which seems to have been polished over with a buffer. The base is fairly flat in the center, but curves out as you move towards the edges of the heatsink.
