The rise above ambient results do the Icicle 238 even less justice than what we expected. It is just straddling the line that differentiates OEM class coolers from value coolers. The Icicle 238 comes to the table with a more than adequate fan solution, but given the fin design of the aluminum component, and indeed the relatively short height, it may be facing an up-hill battle.

Given the level of performance we have seen, the Akasa Icicle 238 would have to be classed as a value cooler, and definitely not one meant to be installed on performance systems.
