While I'm all for high performance kit, I would go crazy with this fan inside my computer. It is loud, and while a pair of headphones can block the noise I don't always want to listen to music when I'm on my computer. Even 25mm thick Delta fans are tame by these standards... so choose your cooler wisely. It will offer amazing performance, but there is a serious price to pay in terms of noise.

If you still have doubts, click on the pair of headphone next to the waveform image of the sound and have a listen for yourself.

One thing is for sure, strapping on a powerful fan can never hurt. The aluminum microfins and the hefty Delta fan prove to be a good combination ranking 3rd, our of the eight reference coolers on the small interface die. Of special importance is the performance of the Dominator on the larger interface die - it ranks in first place there. While the Dominator is not being directly marketed towards the Socket 423 user it could be applied as a cooling solution.

At the very least, it would be a good cooler to consider for any performance system, provided you could live with the higher than normal sound levels.
