Neng Tyi K614 Perspectives |
| The
Fan:
A 7-bladed 50mm
fan will be considered under powered by many of you, however on the lower heat producing processors it may be all that
is really necessary for satisfactory performance. With a low RPM of 4300, it
doesn't come close to the noise of Delta fans. Measuring 15mm in height it is
a low-profile cooling solution. This fan comes with an RPM monitor and
hooks into the motherboard fan headers via a three-pin connector. |

Top:
The heatsink is
entirely constructed out of copper. The base, the fins, and the fan shroud are all solid copper. The clip is one of the best we have seen in a long time since it can be worked by your fingers alone easily. The fins are attached to the base by thermal adhesive by the looks of it. |
|
Side A: As you can see from the side angle, there
are not a lot of fins on the K614 relative to what we have been seeing
lately on the cooler market. However, with the fan so close to the
base of the heatsink it may be well designed to effectively use that small fan
to the
best of its ability. Fins are spaced 2mm, and are 21mm in height. The base is 3mm thick and the fins about 0.4mm.

Base: Behind the
green thermal interface material (which melts when it reaches
certain temperature) the heatsink is fairly flat and quite smooth. As the entire base
plate is stamped out, it doesn't posses the same machined look of other models
on the market. For our tests we scrapped off the green interface
material and used a good quality thermal compound. |
Time to test the K614 on our Synthetic Temperature Test Platform. How will this heatsink perform, your guess will soon be answered...
