The Fan:
The fan is 60mm wide and 25mm thick. The entire top portion of the Dragon Orb3 is removable and keeps the fan about 22mm off of the base. The 7-bladed fan rotates at 6800 RPM and is fairly loud. The fan connects to the motherboard via a three-pin connector, and has a lead for RPM monitoring.

Heatsink Top:
The central copper region of the Dragon Orb 3 is 43mm in diameter. The top portion has been cut to form a series of small copper pegs measuring 8mm in height and 2mm square. Each of the pins are separated by 2mm. The blue fins from the aluminum component of the Dragon Orb3 are 37mm in height.

Side A:
It is easy to forget that this heatsink is 80mm in height. Made up from the upper fan section which attaches to the lower blue heatsink and copper core, the final segment - hidden by the clip in this picture is the aluminum base which is 6mm thick. Notice the space above the tips of the copper core - the fan is not attached here.

Side B:
From the other side we can see both the special clip used to hold the top fan portion of the Orb3 in place, and the large base plate which holds the clip firmly. A small tab in the clip on either side of the plain aluminum base plate ensures that the heatsink does not shift once it has been attached to the processor.

Heatsink Base:
The base of the Orb3 is the copper section. From the markings you can see where the thermal interface material was before being removed for our testing. The aluminum component of the Orb3 is only there to provide a surface for the clip to mount on. The plain aluminum base measures 60x48mm and plays no significant role in the overall cooling capabilities of the Orb3. The copper base is perfectly flat, but still shows some very minor machining marks.
