The heatsink managed to offer some fairly average performance, reinforcing our impressions of it as a fairly general cooler. While it did perform under the all important 60 degree mark, it did so by only a few degrees.

Still, any heatsink which comes in under the 60 degree mark is in range for good performance on a non-overclocked system.

If we were to compare the results of this heatsink against the values we got with the 5E34B3 we would see that this heatsink actually seems to perform a degree or so better. It would seem like the copper plate in the other heatsink does not make much of a significant impact onto the overall performance characteristics of the heatsink.

Since the heat source from our synthetic test apparatus had to traverse just a pure aluminum interface it appeared to fair better than the ill equipped copper based version of this heatsink by a very slim degree.

At best the Spire 5E30B3 manages fairly average cooling performance and could be a good heatsink for the OEM level, but not as a performance cooler.
