the heat output from intel processors varies widely between multi-core processors, so frostytech relies on two thermal values that represent the upper limits of existing cpu families. with a 150w heat load applied by the intel version of frostytech's synthetic thermal test platform, the Scythe Kozuti SCKZT-1000 heatsink maintains an average temperature result of 32.9°C over ambient. Noise levels hold steady at 44.2dBA.

Once fan speed was dropped from 3300RPM to 800RPM the synthetic CPU die steadily rose past 73.1°C over ambient and the test was cancelled. As with the AMD test scenario at 125W, the low profile Kozuti SCKZT-1000 heatsink failed to maintain satisfactory temperatures when the 80mm fan speed was reduced to its minimum speed. It's worth mentioning that this situation is unlikely as the computer would not decrease the PWM fan speed this low under full load.

For the next round of testing the Scythe Kozuti SCKZT-1000 heatsink was tested with an 85W heat load. In this case the Kozuti SCKZT-1000 maintained a good 20.9°C rise in temperature at full fan speed and a poor 46.0°C over ambient temperature at the bare minimum, 800RPM fan speed.

Against the full lineup of heatsinks it's safe to say that Scythe's Kozuti SCKZT-1000 heatsink is a very quiet sub-45mm low profile cooler that offers average thermal performance on TDP 125W AMD platforms and TDP 150W Intel systems at full fan speed. In either situation the heatsink is more than satisfactory for sub 85W TDP processors.

In so far as sub 45-mm tall low profile 1.5U Intel heatsinks go, the comparisons look like this: Evercool HPL-815 @ 27.7°C, Scythe Kozuti SCKZT-1000 @ 32.9°C, Thermolab TLI-U Nano Silencer @ 50.4°C, Silverstone NT07-775 @ 55.2°C over ambient, respectively.

Bottom line, the 40mm tall Scythe Kozuti SCKZT-1000 is very good heatsink compared to what's available in the 1.5U format of low profile heatsinks. Against all heatsinks, the Kozuti SCKZT-1000 offers at best average thermal performance at stock fan speed.
