the Ajigo MF043044's rise above ambient temperature of 35.0°C is
with the fan spinning at about 3050RPM - its the lowest speed. Because of the
manner in which FrostyTech tests heatsinks, the ambient air temperature never
rose high enough to force an increase in the rotational speed of the Delta AFB0712HHB fan
(where a higher ambient air temp would have resulted in an impeller speed of
~6000RPM). This factor is something we can normally circumvent by shorting out the contacts to
the fans' thermistor, but in this case that sensor was inaccessible.
While considering that the
Ajigo MF043044 was operating in its default (low fan speed) configuration, the
heatsink certainly is quiet. Temperature levels are leaning towards the warmer side
of the scale, but that is most certainly due to the above limitation we
encountered. From the thermal test results data, it is clear that the Ajigo MF043044 is
a good heatsink which fulfills the role of cooling an AMD
Athlon64 processor satisfactorily. Had its' fan been spinning at maximum RPM, the results would have improved
