the frostytech mk.ii platform applies a 125w heat load to the heatsinks' being tested, and in this case the Evercool K802-715CA does not perform especially well. Given that its compact copper body weighs nearly the same as the Zalman CNPS9500 LED (516 vs 530 grams), its resultant test temperature of 41.1°C spotlights the Evercool K802-715CA's lackluster performance capabilities. With noise levels in the 51 dBA range, this level of thermal performance really isn't worth settling for - it's not exactly like we're dealing with a sub-30 dBA heatsink after all. If your PC is already equipped with the Evercool K802-715CA heatsink, it should be sufficient for early model AMD Sempron or socket 754 Athlon64 processors which run a little cooler... but if that's the case, consider switching back to the stock AMD heatsink. Bottom line, save your $20 and have a look through the reference heatsink test results above for a better performing heatsink that meets your thermal and acoustic expectations.
