The final rise above ambient temperature synthetic temperature platform test results indicate that the Evercool NW11F-CLB825CA/LD2 heatsink is not especially impressive as far as a mainstream socket 478 heatsink would go. It performs below the stock Intel heatsink, with a rise above ambient temperature of 42 degrees, and for its 49.6 dBA of noise, the warmer temperatures are not as easily accepted. Performance on the 100W temperature test (which is used to gauge its thermal performance in particular) is satisfactory, and will allow processors to run, but there are quieter and cooler running solutions out there from which to choose. In this regard, the NW11F's overall properties as a lower-noise heatsink are less than compelling, and just simply 'satisfactory.'
