The OCZ Gladiator II heatsink comes in just under the 45 degree Celsius mark on our 100W small interface die test. This is good enough to place the Gladiator II in the higher end of this list of reference heatsinks. A few more degrees higher and the Gladiator II would have classified as a performance cooler... but that isn't quite the case.

Still, for gaming systems where noise is not a factor, and cooling performance is, the OCZ Gladiator II will handle the job of keeping AthlonXP's cool very well. The design is a well tested one, and while the clip isn't tool free, it at least makes use off all three tabs on the Socket A to keep the copper heatsink firmly in place.

Since we are looking at what is basically a 60mm cube of a heatsink, noise levels are not factored into the equation. The Gladiator II is loud, measuring in with 57dB of noise in our tests. Provided sound levels are not a concern for your computer then the Gladiator II should make cool choice - pun intended.
