It is probably worth mentioning that this heatsink is just a
little on the old side, but hey, an old heatsink means it
doesn't cost that much and could find its way into
a value oriented system. In any case the initial results are not very good against
the current crop of socket 478 heatsinks.

The final temperatures for the Vantec GSW-6015 make it
evident that the reign of entirely extruded heatsinks is pretty
much over. The GSW-6015 can no longer compete, and if you have
this heatsink in your computer, and love its low noise qualities, I'm
afraid you are going to have to leave it behind if you upgrade to a
more powerful Pentium 4 processor.
The thermal performance of this Vantec heatsink
is just too low for a desktop cooler considering the options which are available on
the cooling marketplace these days.
