The little squirrel cage fan rotates at 7800RPM, but moves
only 6.1CFM of air according to Dynatron's spec sheet. That combination of
high RPM with low airflow does not give the heatsink the neccessary resources
to stay out of the lower end of the reference heatsinks as you can
see above.

The final
results for the Dynatron
DC1U-B01 are middle of the
road when compared to other 1U socket A heatsinks we have tested in
the past. Don't forget we are stress testing these heatsinks with a 100W heat
load so they are being pushed a little beyond their rated specs. Dynatron's own
DC1206BMR 1U heatsink still manages to offer a slight temperature lead with its
standard vaneaxial fan and high density skived fin construction however.
Noise levels are high thanks to the whine of the DC1U-B01's
fan, but thermal performance is relatively good when compared directly against other socket
A 1U heatsinks.
Since this Dynatron heatsink is 79mm in length it is important to ensure that
the heatsink will fit on the motherboard first. Some Socket A boards have
capacitors or other electronic devices located close to the socket, and since
the DC1U-B01 is wider than a typical 60x60mm socket A cooler problems could
potentially arise.
