The Fans: The 15mm thick 70mm reportedly spins at 3800RPM, but as the
fan motor draws 0.4A I'm suspect of that number. In any case noise levels are pretty standard,
and there is little chance of this heatsink standing out inside a case
as a noise producer. The fan hooks up to a standard 3-pin motherboard fan header
and supports RPM monitoring. |

Bare Heatsink:
The interlocking copper fins are visible from the top with the fan removed. Each
fin is only 0.3mm thick and is spaced about 1mm from the next. The
fins are brazed or soldered to the base plate, and kept
in position by the interlocking folds at the outside edges. The fan screws
into the fan shroud which also provides a few millimeters of clearance above
the top of the fins. |

Side A: From
the side angle we can see that there is about 4mm of clearance
between the tips of the fins and the base of the fan. The fins
are 65mm across the width of the heatsink, and
the outer tabs are for the HSRM to lock onto. The fan shroud appears to
made from copper as well, and is 1mm thick. The baseplate is 4mm thick
copper. |

Side B: The
fan shroud supports the fan and provides a solid wall to help
direct the fans' exhaust air out to either side.
There are no vents or openings on the side of the heatsinks where the
clipping mechanisms lock down. The entire heatsink is 43mm in height. |

Heatsink Base:
The base shows evidence of being sanded, but is
not entirely flat as it is smooth. There is a very slight wave effect
but the central area where the core makes contact
looks pretty good from what we can tell with an engineers straight edge. Thermal paste
would be required with this base. The base measures 69mm x 83mm.
