Performance is a little higher than we
initially expected with this fan, but the copper skive base seems to be helping out to keep
the numbers pretty low. We'll have to wait and see what the results are with
the final rise above ambient temperatures before we find out where the CAK4-76T stands.

The final results place the Globalwin CAK4-76T very close to that of the CAK4-88T
which also features a thermally controlled fan - albeit on a little larger than this cooler. I
would say that the race to produce the best overall low-noise heatsink
is fully on. Thermally controlled fans such as this are an effective measure, but they
are still somewhat of a stopgap between older cooling technologies and the requirements for the future.
The basic impingement heatsink has changed little since
the days of the 486, though things have gotten larger, copper is used more and
more, and a fin densities have been increased. If we are to
see further advancements in both cooling capabilities and acoustic
sensitivity then manufactures
will have to continue to adopt and test out new techniques, and technologies.
In the mean time, if you have an AMD system you'd like to see just a little
quieter, and don't fool around with overclocking then the Globalwin CAK4-76T may be just your ticket.
