Not unexpectedly, one of the larger heatsinks with the largest fan proves to be a very comprehensive cooling solution. In fact, the thermalright AX-7 with a 38mm Delta fan managed to come in a full 6 degrees Celsius lower than the Coolink U1P2 (also graced with a rather large fan).

We all know that AMD makes really good chips that run rather hot, and for this heatsinks like the AX-7 were created. The design of the Thermalright AX-7 is not something we would have immediately thought to perform as well as it does.

Since the copper base blocks off the bottoms of the clip side fins, it is somewhat surprising that hot spots aren't created here by backed up air.

That is just speculation however, the numbers tell a much more impressive story, and one that will surely delight any performance user looking for cooling at all costs. Noise be damned!
