Definitely made with the Athlon in mind, the Kuthtec KTM2101 offer up pretty good performance for a primarily aluminum heatsink. It doesn't quite have the power necessary to be classed a performance cooler, but for its size, and materials it exceeded expectations.

From the first appearance of this heatsink, its' Swiss cheese like design has garnered a lot of attention, but distribution has remained largely in Asia so consumers in North America may have a hard time finding this heatsink in stores.

In terms of longevity, I think that a dust free environment would be of special importance to a heatsink such as this. While we always recommend that cases and heatsinks get regular cleaning, a heatsink such as this absolutely needs it. If dust or fibers were to block the top set of holes the rest of the heatsink would effectively be cut off from the fan. That situation would lead to overheating, and is something to keep in mind. Still, putting that concern aside, the Kuthtec KTM2101 is a surprisingly good performer and would be good for any stock system. Overclockers may be able to get a little out of this heatsink, but in the end it is limited by 60mm fans, so don't expect to be able to push it much higher than we have already seen.
