Acoustic Samples: Listen to this Heatsink! The waveform image tells most of the story; the two fans make a bit of noise but in general are pretty mild. You can listen to this heatsink in operation for yourself by clicking on the headphones and playing the MP3 recording.
Sound Level Measurements: Listening to the actual noise a heatsink makes allows you to hear what pure numbers alone cannot get across. To further emphasize FrostyTech's reliance on cold hard facts when evaluating a heatsink, we also take Decibel readings with a sound level meter. These results may be higher than the manufacturer's listed specs, but then again these are real world measurements.
At 52.4 dB the heatsink is firmly middle of the road in terms of noise generation. A sound measurement closer to 50 dB would have been nice to see, but I suppose that would be asking for too much from two fans.
