The waveform image we captured tells the whole story. This is a very, very quiet fan. It is that quiet partly because it really doesn't move a whole ton of air, and partly because of the really cool looking impeller. Sound Level Measurements:

Listening to the actual noise a heatsink makes allows you to hear what pure numbers alone cannot get across. To further emphasize FrostyTech's reliance on cold hard facts when evaluating a heatsink, we also take Decibel readings with a sound level meter. These results may be higher than the manufacturer's listed specs, but then again these are real world measurements.

At a mere 35.3 dB these fans were difficult to measure accurately. Not only is this at just about the bottom level of the sound meter which is officially calibrated for 35dB and up, but even just moving the sound meter around would cause a creek or noise which was louder than the actual fan!
