Well the PAL8942 isn't quite as quiet as the stock intel heatsink, but then again it does offer better cooling performance. Compared to other heatsinks we have been comparing it against, the Alpha PAL8942 comes in acoustically mid-level, which is good, but not low enough for it to call itself a low-noise cooling solution.
