Performance from the get-go is looking rather splendid, and indeed the HHC-001 with its higher power fan is not disappointing. The 6800 RPM speed of the fan means that more air is delivered to cool off the copper fins and that means the heatsink can disperse more heat to the surrounding environment.

The other Coolermaster heatsinks in this list of reference heatsinks are the low-nosie HHC-L61 and brand spanking new HSC-V62 with its reactive fan.

Copper and heatpipes aside, it is the thermal performance of a heatsink which either gets our seal of disapproval, or recommendations (but hey, there is always room to improve). The Coolermaster HHC-001 is a standby which has seen good adoption because it works well enough that even overclockers can find some room to breath with it.

For instance, even though the HHC-001 is placing about 6th here, the differences between it and the two adjacent heatsinks is not very large. Whether it be the fans, the heatpipes, the copper or all three, the HHC-001 is a good option to consider for cooling Socket A AMD processors. That, and it just looks really cool with those twin heatpipes jutting out from the side!
