"Some people have suggested that Caldera open-source the entire source tree, while people on the other side of the spectrum have suggested that it will lead to the dilution of Linux's single source tree. Quite apart from the fact that the Linux community appears to tolerate porting the kernel to all manner of processors, and the development of all different kinds of distribution, without allowing the source tree to split, I feel the whole question of open-sourcing SVRn, versus proprietarizing Linux, is mis-stating the question."
