This last year has proved to be a very exciting one in the world of PC hardware, and Gamers Depot has been there every step of the way reporting on what's hot and what's not. Now that we're in 2001, it's time to reflect back on specific hardware that not only garnered a Drool Award from us, but is also what we consider to be best of class in each respective categories.
During 2000 we saw several changes in the hardware landscape that have not only helped some companies to blossom their stock prices, but more importantly have done a great job of bringing all of us a better computing experience. Perhaps one of the most exciting pieces of hardware were the AMD Athlon "Thunderbird" with performance enhancing cache, and any video card based on the nVIDIA GeForce 2 Ultra Chipset. Combine these two platforms and you have gaming nirvana.
