But lo, you can now get a Mototech network switch with a gigabit port on it, and an Accton gigabit network adapter to match, for less than the price that a lot of places still charge for a brand-name gigabit NIC by itself.
I've checked out a "Gigabit Network Combo" pack including the abovementioned two items, and I like it. But it's not something that everybody needs.
