ixbt-labs becomes - ixbt-labs becomes
Thu Nov 23, 2000 | 8:08P| PermaLink
"You may have noticed that our former URL, isn't leading to x-bit (former ixbtLABS) web-site any more. That's sad news for us as well. However, we would like to make the situation clear to everyone, so that to avoid confusion and misunderstanding. ixbtLABS used to cooperate with the Russian-language iXBT hardware web-site for some time. We shared news and other info bits. However, starting from mid 2000 this cooperation is completely terminated and ixbtLABS became a totally independent, self-sufficient project, with its own test lab and a team of experienced hardware engineers (btw, some of them quit iXBT after the sites split and joined ixbtLABS). Unfortunately, the old URL no longer belongs to us, x-bit. The guys from the Russian-language iXBT site believed that we appealed to their reputation when talking to hardware vendors. However, any person in the hardware and software industry we ever talked to can confirm that it isn't true. So, in order to solve the conflict we agreed to move to a new domain and changed the site name to "x-bit labs". According to the mutual agreement between x-bit labs and iXBT, the "" domain was given to iXBT and the latter was supposed to put a redirect to our new address. Even though iXBT guys promised just an ordinary redirect, they didn't do it and used the URL in quite a strange way, we should say."
