Once again the performance of the Dynatron keeps it up at the top of our list of reference coolers. While the difference between it and the TI-V77L appears more pronounced than before the Model-638 still manages to hold its own. This is one very solid cooling solution (though noisy).

Now apart from the thermal performance of the Model-638 there is one other aspect that makes it a very desirable heatsink for the performance user - the tri-clasp clip.

This is one of only a few heatsinks that use all three mounting clasps to keep the heatsink in place, so for those of you who have broken off one from the socket, you finally have another option to consider.

Whether you have broken off one or both clasps, or even just worn them out from repeated heatsink removal and installation the Model-638 should be able to handle it.

Overall I would have to say that the Dynatron Model-638 is a great performance cooler for those of you who do not mind the extra noise output by the 38mm thick Delta fan. I would be hesitant to keep this fan and heatsink combo in an office or home environment because it does generate a lot of noise. If however you have a computer that needs some of the best possible cooling that is off in some far corner than this cooler is definitely one to consider hard - Just watch your fingers!
