The ever present drone of the Delta fan goes hand in hand with the higher performing heatsinks these days. So far we have not seen any one capable of producing a high performance heatsink with a quiet fan.
We have seen heatsinks like that from Molex which offer quiet performance (in fact nearly silent) but at a significantly lower performance level.

The clip trough is 6mm wide, and only cuts into the base by 0.5mm so the heat spreading properties are not severely hampered.

Many of the copper heatsinks in this set of reference coolers are in the 600 gram or heavier category. In particular the Dragon Orb3 and the Millennium are quite hefty. Still other coolers like the Thermalright SK6 and the Vantec CCK6035D are more inline with the weight of the Dynatron Model-O.

With those heatsinks in mind it is easy to see how the efficiency of the Model-O's design has enabled it to place quite well in this first round of raw data comparisons.

Naturally the all copper Dynatron Model-O manages to place better than its all-aluminum counterpart, the Model-L.

Anyhow lets let the real numbers fly and take a look at the results of our tests on the synthetic temperature platform, while examining the rise above ambient results.
