The Fan:
Love them or hate them, Delta fans are everywhere. Protected by a wire gill, this noisy Delta fan blows air down into the copper Microfins of the Model-O heatsink. The 7-bladed, 25mm high fan pushes air into the Microfins while rotating at about 6800RPM. The fan connects to the motherboard via a three-pin connector, and supports RPM monitoring.

Heatsink Top:
This level of fin density is something you are not going to see very often. Fins are 0.35mm thick, and spaced 1.0mm apart. Each of the 60 sets of fins measures about 21mm wide and 24mm tall. The clip sits in a trough 6mm wide. According to the manufacturer, airflow pressure is reached at the base of the fins for optimal cooling. The fan mounts to the shroud leaving approx. 3-4mm clearance from the tips of the fins.

Side A:
From a side view the number and densitny of the one-piece copper Microfins becomes apparent. Each of those sixty fins is only 0.35mm thick, and have been formed from material skived off the base plate. The fins and the base plate are still the same piece of copper and no joints are necessary. The fins also somewhat resemble the teeth of a whale (used for filtering small shrimp from the ocean).

Side B:
The Jaguar stamp and "Jagwire" brand on the aluminum shroud are for the shroud only. The name has nothing to do with the manufacturer, Dynatron. The clip used on the Model L is only operable with a flat headed screwdriver, but is not difficult to engage or remove from the socket. There is no protection from the heatsink sliding on the die in the event the computer is moved, so as with most heavy copper heatsinks, it is always a good idea to remove it first, then transport the computer.

Heatsink Base:
The base shows signs of a few superficial scratches since the protective plastic cover was not included on this particular pre-production heatsink. The base is impeccably face milled, and perfectly flat where the processor makes contact. The surface is very smooth, but not polished. For comparisons sake, it is quite similar to that of an Alpha base finish. Note also the under cut for the socket cam arm.
