Some static made its way into this recording, but other then a few clicks it is no worse for the wear. One thing for sure, the fan doesn't come near the Delta range (even though the waveform looks a bit big) which is comforting. Anyhow, its always best to listen to the heatsink rather than reading about listening to the heatsink :).

You might be a bit surprised to not see the K614 at the bottom of this list of reference coolers. True to form, the solid copper construction comes into play and enables this cooler to garner a fairly respectable position (for its small size and small fan).

Overall, since it is a solid copper cooler it would appear to be a bit lower than the grade.

No surprises here either. The K614 fairs the same position on our line up of reference coolers. It's interesting to note that on the large copper die template the K614 performs quite well, but falls back a bit when mounted on the small copper die template.

Perhaps the thickness of the base plate is too thin to enable proper heat spreading when mounted on a concentrated heatsource like the small copper die template.

In any regard, the K614 does offer some fairly average cooling (for a copper heatsink) that puts it just slightly above the OEM class of heatsink. It's not the best, and it isn't terrible, but given other copper options to choose from you might to well to side elsewhere - especially if noise isn't a concern for you.
