Gaming Performance (Quake III Demo)

For the following performance tests the benchmarks were run a minimum of 5 times and the best 3 scores were averaged.

Unfortunately these results above are not indicative of the Windows performance increase. There's isn't much difference in frame rates between the two speeds at any resolution. Don't let the exaggerated bars fool you. Take a look at the numbers themselves. This is very odd, considering the 55 Mhz difference between the two speeds. The only reason I can come up with for this is the possibility that the TNT 2 Ultra used for these benchmarks reached its maximum potential at 550 Mhz, so no matter how much faster the processor became, it wasn't going to make a difference in frame rates.
