Information on Frostytech's test methodology is available here.
The Heatsink Fan:
The 80x80x15mm fan rotates between 2800-5000RPM, depending on the temperature of the ambient air as sensed by a set of thermistors located under the fan motor. The Cooljag SFO-Q's fan draws power from a standard 3-pin motherboard fan header that supports RPM monitoring. There is no wire fan grill to protect the fan blades from errant wires, or fingers... and I've got a sliced finger to prove its worthwhile addition.

Heatsink Top:
The aluminum fan shroud is attached to the heatsink an supports the fan about 4mm above the fin tips. A single spring tensioned clip runs down the center of the Cooljag SFO-Q heatsink, occupying just 3mm space in total - a substantial improvement over some of previous heatsinks where the clip was a sold block of metal running down the center. Each of the aluminum fins measures roughly 75x40mm in size. The fins are 0.3mm thick, and spaced 1.0mm apart.

Heatsink Side A
From the side, we can see two 6mm diameter copper heatpipes connecting to the 6mm thick copper base plate. All metal-to-metal joints are soldered. The heatsink uses a clip which locks onto the center tab of the K8 heatsink frame of socket AM2/939 Athlon64 processors. The plastic cam arm rotates and applies pressure so there is no need for installation tools.

Heatsink Side B:
The Cooljag SFO-Q heatsink uses 56 aluminum fins measuring 0.3mm thick. The aluminum fins are spaced 1.0mm apart. Each fin is soldered to the copper base, and if this is done properly the aluminum fins will be held firmly in place and produce a joint with low thermal resistance. From one side of the heatsink to the other, heatpipes are located to reduce obstructions to airflow.

Heatsink Base:
The 6mm thick copper base plate has a machined and polished finish which translates into a surface roughness of ~8 microinches. It measures 41x 73mm. The surface is flat in the y-axis, and slightly concave in the x-axis. The Cooljag SFO-Q heatsink comes with a pre-applied patch of Shinetsu grey thermal compound, so initial installation is a snap. The compound was removed for FrostyTech's thermal tests however to standardize test results.
