The Heatsink Fan:
The 60x60x25mm fan spins at a noisy 6800RPM, so a grill definitely should have been installed onto it. Cooljag looses marks for not doing this simple measure. The fan itself draws power from a standard 3-pin motherboard fan header that supports RPM monitoring. Watch out for loose wires with this puppy!

Heatsink Top:
A plenum roughly 4mm deep is created by the aluminum fan shroud just behind the 60mm Delta fan. The upper half of the copper skived fins are cut back to ease air flow pressure. A total of 27 skived copper fins are used in this design, with each measuring ~48x58mm. The fins are 0.6mm thick and spaced about 2mm apart.

Heatsink Side A:
The 60mm Delta fan is mounted on its side, with one edge of the fan directly against the copper base plate. There is no airflow below the fans' frame, which is worrisome as this portion of the base is partially over the CPU core. The copper base plate is 4mm thick, 5.5mm thick under the skived fins.

Heatsink Side B:
Each of the skived copper fins has a slight curve to it from the manufacturing process. Fin spacings are wide to present less airflow resistance. Both copper fins and base are made from the same initial bar of material, which is why skiving can be a very efficient heatsink technology.

Heatsink Base:
The bare copper base plate has been machined very flat in the x-axis, but is slightly concave in the y-axis (as looking at the picture to the left). Surface finish is at or better than a roughness of ~8 microinches.
